Congratulations

Well done Charlotte from MCL who recently received a prize for the story she entered into the RSPCA story writing competition! She got a book, a book store voucher and a big soft toy. Congratulations!

Community story writing, colouring competitions and the like are great ways to encourage students to ‘have a go’ and showcase their creativity.  Maybe Google some competitions that might be appropriate, or follow up when you see them advertised.  Your children could really benefit from the experience.

Updated Medical conditions

Lately I have discovered that some of our students have medical conditions or life-threatening allergies that we haven’t been made aware of.  I know how busy life gets, but this information is really important for us to have.  If since you completed enrolment forms, the information pertaining to your child’s medical needs has changed, please contact the office Croydon.hills.ps@education.vic.gov.au.

Harvest Collective with Melba Support Services

Thanks so much to the team at Melba for growing:  cherry tomatoes, pumpkin, cucumbers, zucchini, silverbeet, corn and strawberries in their hothouse and donating them to our farm for us to plant. The ladies from Interchange, along with the Environment Captains and other garden club participants enjoyed planting them last Friday.  Can’t wait to see the seedlings grow.

As per the Compass Post that Robyn kindly sent out, for the next month there will be an increased Police presence around our school at drop off and pick up times to ensure that speed limits are being adhered to and children are crossing at the designated crossing.

Early arrivals

There has been an increase in children arriving too early to school. This is a duty of care issue, as school staff cannot supervise students onsite before 8.40am.  If you need your children cared for before this time, please enrol them in our Before School Care program. Forms can be downloaded from our website.

Melbourne Cup Monday

Please jump onto Compass and log an attendance note if you are choosing for your children to remain at home on Monday 6/11/23.  As per previous communication, we will be facilitating an alternate program on this day.

Until next time,

Julie Reid  –  Assistant Principal Wellbeing and Inclusion
