SASj Premiers

At the recent ACC Sport Awards, St Norbert College was named the SASj Overall Champions (East).

Throughout the year, our students have proudly represented the College and demonstrated excellence in the SASj Competition. It is thanks to the hard work and commitment of our students and staff, as well as the support of their families, that we secured this prestigious title. Not only did we clinch the Overall Championship (East), we also walked away with premiership titles for Year 7 Boys Basketball (Overall), Year 7 Girls Basketball (East), Year 8/9 Boys Basketball (Overall), Year 8/9 Girls Basketball (Overall), Year 8/9 Girls Netball (Overall), Year 8/9 Girls Soccer (Overall), Year 8/9 Mixed Frisbee (East), Year 10 Boys Basketball (East), Year 10 Boys Indoor Beach Volleyball (East) and Year 10 Girls Netball (East). An incredible effort.

It's been another fantastic year for Canons Sport and I thank you all for your dedication. I hope you look back on these achievements with immense pride and excitement for the year ahead.

Perth Glory Visit

On Monday, 4 December, our Years 7-9 Specialised Football Program students spent the morning at Curtin University playing futsal, before returning to the College to talk all things football with Perth Glory stars, Morgan Aquino and Isobel Dalton

It was a great opportunity to our budding footballers to ask a lot of questions and gain an insight into what it takes to play football, and sport in general, professionally. Thank you to Morgan and Isobel for taking the time to come out and see us. It was a great way to kick off Independent Learning Week and inspire us for a bigger and better 2024.

Australian Cricket's Women and Girls Week

In November, Australian Cricket recognised the contribution females are making to the sport and celebrated the continued growth of female cricket across the country during Women and Girls Week.

In Western Australia, there's been a substantial increase in numbers over the past year, with a 23% increase in girls playing Woolworths Cricket Blast and a 17% increase in overall girls registration for the 2022-23 season. Excitingly, these numbers are continuing to grow in the 2023-24 season with females playing more cricket than ever before and contributing at all levels through umpiring, coaching and administration.

Our very own Hope Beresford (Year 7) was featured in the Western Australian Cricket Association's Women and Girls Week campaign. Well done, Hope!
