Acting Principal's Update

Dear Edgars Creek Community, 

This is the second-last edition of our newsletter for 2023.  I can hardly believe that it has been 8 weeks since we started the term, and I commenced as the Acting Principal at Edgars Creek Secondary College. When students ask me in the yard what I think of Edgars Creek, my answer is always "I love it here"  and in this newsletter, you will see why.  It is clear, that our students, staff, and families make it the exciting and successful school that it is.  Congratulations to all students for working hard in their sub-school teams to learn, improve and make the most of their schooling experience. Edgars Creek Secondary College is a school of opportunity. 

This edition of our newsletter highlights the amazing spirit that exists at Edgars Creek, the passion of our students and our willingness to live our values of Embrace Learning and Look to Inspire Yourself and Others.  On all occasions, our students have put their best foot forward and represented themselves and their school in a positive way. 

Student Voice and Agency is active at our school and I want to give a special mention to our student leaders who have worked hard to collect and provide feedback to their teachers on how we collectively can drive improvement at our school.  This week the Principal team will hear from our VicSRC students and I am looking forward to hearing their reflections and suggestions based on the year that was. 

As this newsletter is published, we have four school weeks remaining for the year.  I encourage all students to make the most of their orientation 'Step up' experiences, and to participate in the fun activities that continue to take place at each year level aimed at celebrating student success and participation during the year as part of our organised activity programs. Good luck also to those Senior students embarking on structured work experience.  Finally, families are also reminded that unless informed otherwise by the school, our summer uniform is currently the required uniform to be worn by all students.
