Tom Templeton (Hamilton) - Hockey

A Year 8 student at Hamilton and Alexandra College, Tom’s hockey development continues to go from strength to strength. He was selected for the Victorian Academy Under-15 team as well as the under-15 Hockey Victoria Boys State Team, winning silver at the National Championships in Darwin. Most recently, Tom was selected for the Under 16 Hockey Club Melbourne Futures team and is currently training for multiple interstate trips to play as curtain raisers to the Hockey One National Competition. Tom is also a great contributor to the local competition in Hamilton, umpiring each week as well as being the highest goal scorer in the Under 16 competition, where he was recently awarded the Best and Fairest for his team.

The Hamilton and Alexandra College–Year 10 Coxed Quad Scull

Earlier this year, the team won second place in the Division 2 Coxed Quad Scull event at the Rowing Victoria Junior Girls State Championship Regatta. The students overcame strong opposition to secure their finals place. Coached by Paul Mould, the students were cheered on and supported by the Hamilton and Alexandra College community.

NETBALL

On Saturday, three College teams played at Pedrina Park for Round 3 of the Hamilton Netball Association Term 4 season. Although we received mixed results, it was another great day at the courts.

In the Year 7/8 competition, the College Magpies had the bye, while College Vixens, unfortunately, went down to Baimbridge Blue, 12-34. The Vixens are working hard, and it is great to see their confidence in themselves and each other continue to grow. Next week see a College vs College game at 10:30 for our junior girls; it could be anyone’s game!

There were mixed results for the Year 9-12 teams this weekend, with the College Swifts going down 23-29 to a strong Monivae side. Coached by Mrs Malseed, the College Swifts are improving every week with outstanding performances by Elsie Adams and Pepper Bowes on Saturday. The undefeated College Diamonds faced an undermanned Baimbridge side, coming away with a 38-12 win. A huge thank you goes to Baimbridge for putting together a team after only 4 players turned up, giving us an opportunity to run new combinations and have some fun.

Thank you to the fill-ins for the Year 9-12 sides, Isla McClure playing up for the Diamonds and Sarah Richardson doubling up when the Swifts needed a player. Finally, a massive thank you goes to all our College umpires, who volunteer their time so that we can play the sport we love!
