Hey Doncaster Community!
It’s your 2026 Student Leadership Team here! You might’ve noticed there was no free dress day last term- but don’t worry, because we have one coming up quickly in Term 2 and we are super excited to share the details with you!
When: Thursday 30th April
What: A free dress day with a gold coin donation. All money raised will go towards Fight MND. If you are in free dress, it is expected you bring a donation. When you donate, you’ll also receive a raffle ticket and go into the running to win a prize!
We are also excited to announce that our annual Dunk the Teacher is back again for another year! If you want to get involved in that, don’t forget your extra gold coins to take part! $1 for 1 try, $2 for 2 tries, $5 for a guaranteed dunk
We look forward to seeing you all there!
Preparing for the Cooler Months
As the weather begins to cool, now is the perfect time to help your child prepare for the months ahead—especially when it comes to school uniforms and everyday essentials.
Colder days often mean extra layers, more frequent washing, and the occasional growth spurt. Making sure your child has enough uniform items, such as jumpers, long-sleeve shirts, and spare sets, can make busy mornings easier and help them stay warm and comfortable throughout the day.
Wet weather can also make drying clothes more difficult, so having a few extra items on hand is always helpful. We also encourage families to label all uniform pieces, particularly jumpers and jackets as clearly named clothing makes it much easier for lost items to be returned when they are found.
With the colder months often bringing coughs and sniffles, it’s a good idea to pack tissues in your child’s bag each day or provide a box of tissues for their locker. Having tissues readily available supports good hygiene and helps reduce classroom disruptions, as students then don’t need to leave lessons to visit the School Office for supplies.
If your child has outgrown any items, now is a great time to check and prepare before winter fully sets in.
A little planning now can make a big difference to a smooth and comfortable school term ahead.
