Learning and Teaching
Anna Robertson
As we arrive at the end of Term 1, I want to take a moment to acknowledge what has been a busy and rewarding term for our students and staff across Myrniong and Senior School.
Our students have demonstrated genuine curiosity, risk-taking and compassion in their learning — both in and out of the classroom — and it has been a delight to witness. Navigating the demands of learning across so many different contexts takes resilience and adaptability, and I am proud of the way our students have risen to that challenge throughout the term.
A reminder that our Continuous Reporting system is available to all families via the Gradebook icon on Toddle. This is a valuable tool that provides regular, real-time feedback on your child's progress and learning. I encourage you to take some time over the break to explore this with your child and have a conversation about their learning so far this year.
For families of Senior School students, please be aware that Parent–Teacher Interviews for subject teachers will be held during Week Two of Term Two. Further information about this — including how to book — will be shared on the first day back next term, so keep an eye out for that communication.
Some Senior School students will also have holiday homework over the break. While the holidays are a well-deserved rest, this work is an important part of their continued learning and consolidation in certain subject areas. I encourage students to approach it with the same effort and commitment they have shown throughout the term.
Speaking of rest — please do take the holiday break as an opportunity to genuinely recharge. Research consistently tells us that downtime is not time wasted; it is an essential part of wellbeing and learning readiness. I encourage families to protect time over the holidays for rest, connection and the things that bring joy. Students will return stronger for it.Finally, thank you. Thank you to our families for your ongoing support and for working alongside our staff to achieve the very best outcomes for our students. The partnership between home and school is at the heart of what makes our community so strong, and it is something I do not take for granted.
I wish all students and families a safe, restful and enjoyable holiday break, and I look forward to welcoming everyone back for what promises to be a wonderful Term Two.
