The Media team is hard at work on their latest production, and excitement is already building. The film has been invited to submit to several major festivals—a fantastic recognition at this early stage.
The script, crafted primarily by Stacey R. and Ruby W., has been receiving glowing feedback from the cast. Actors involved in the project have been especially complimentary, praising both the writing and the creative direction.
More updates to come as the project continues to take shape.
Here is a sneak peak at the script:
Pulse Alive
A big shout out to Lucy C. for her wonderful performance with the Pulse Alive Drama Ensemble earlier this term. Lucy represented Kellyville High School with confidence and talent, bringing energy to the performance and contributing to a memorable evening.
Its always exciting to see our students involved in opportunities that let them grow, express themselves and share their skills with the wider community.
If you haven't had a chance yet, head to Facebook and watch some of the performance.
Year 7 Camp
Our Year 7 students enjoyed a memorable start to high school during their camp at the Great Aussie Bush Camp in Lake Macquarie. Over three days, they threw themselves into activities like canoeing, archery, the high ropes and team‑building challenges, all of which encouraged them to step outside their comfort zones and support one another. The enthusiasm, teamwork and resilience they showed made the experience both rewarding and fun.
Beyond the activities, the camp gave students a valuable chance to form new friendships and strengthen connections with their peers and teachers. Many embraced the independence of being away from home, managing their cabins and working together in groups. They returned tired but smiling, proud of what they achieved and excited for the year ahead.

Year 10 Mentors Make a Lasting Impact at Year 7 Camp
Our recent Year 7 camp was a fantastic success, and a significant part of this was due to the outstanding contribution of our Year 10 student mentors.
Throughout the camp, our mentors demonstrated exceptional leadership, maturity and empathy as they supported Year 7 students through a range of new and challenging experiences. From encouraging participation in activities to helping students overcome personal fears, the mentors played a vital role in creating a safe, supportive and positive environment.
Many Year 7 students were stepping well outside their comfort zones—whether it was trying new activities, building independence, or forming new friendships. The guidance and encouragement provided by the Year 10 mentors helped build confidence and resilience, allowing students to fully engage in all aspects of camp life.
The mentors should be commended for the way they represented the school. Their positive attitude, willingness to help and ability to connect with younger students did not go unnoticed. They are outstanding role models and demonstrated the values of leadership, respect and responsibility at all times.
We thank our Year 10 mentors for their dedication and contribution. Their efforts made a lasting impact on the Year 7 cohort and helped ensure the camp was an enjoyable and memorable experience for all involved.
Child Studies Interest Elective – Budgeting Excursion
As part of their learning, students were challenged to create a baby‑room budget, selecting both essential and non‑essential items while staying under a limit of $1500. This hands‑on task helped them explore real‑world decision‑making, prioritising needs, comparing costs, and planning responsibly.
Year 10 Design and Technology
Year 10 Design and Technology students have been hard at work bringing their Marketing Assessment Task to life. Working in groups, they’ve taken on the full product‑development process — designing, costing, making and selling their chosen items. This year, the class voted to create cupcakes and muffins, turning the classroom into a hive of creativity and collaboration.
Once the sale is complete, students will evaluate their results and reflect on what they’ve learned, building practical skills in teamwork, problem‑solving and entrepreneurship. Even better, all funds raised will be donated to Feel the Magic, allowing students to support a meaningful cause while gaining real‑world experience.
TAS Castle Hill Show Success
Paige T. entered two of her woodwork projects in the Castle Hill Show and achieved outstanding results. She received first place and second place, and was also awarded Most Successful Exhibitor for her category. What an incredible effort and a fantastic recognition of her hard work and creativity!
Year 8 Smashed
Year 8 recently took part in the Smashed program, delivered by the Gibber theatre team, as part of our ongoing commitment to student wellbeing and alcohol education. The interactive performance used real‑life scenarios, drama and discussion to explore the risks and consequences of underage drinking in a way that was relatable and engaging for students.
Throughout the session, students followed the story of three young people navigating peer pressure, decision‑making and the impact of alcohol on their health, relationships and future opportunities. After the performance, the Gibber facilitators led a guided conversation where students reflected on the characters’ choices, asked questions and discussed strategies for staying safe and making responsible decisions.
The program was well‑received by Year 8, who appreciated the honest, practical approach and the chance to talk openly about an important issue. We are proud to offer initiatives like Smashed that empower students with knowledge, confidence and the skills to make positive choices.
Japanese Student Visit - A wonderful Cultural Exchange
Kellyville High School was delighted to welcome a group of 10 visiting students from Happy Science Academy in Japan on the 30th and 31st of March. Their visit provided a fantastic opportunity for cultural exchange, language practice, and the building of new friendships within our school community.
On their first day, the students were warmly welcomed and paired with buddies from our Year 10 Japanese class, along with a number of enthusiastic Year 9 volunteers. Together, they attended a range of classes, allowing our visitors to experience a typical day at Kellyville High School while interacting with our students in an authentic setting. At lunchtime, everyone enjoyed a Domino’s pizza party, followed by some friendly (and energetic!) games of dodgeball, which helped break the ice and bring lots of laughter.
On the second day, our visitors joined us at the school Athletics Carnival, where they embraced the vibrant atmosphere of the event. They enjoyed a classic Australian sausage sizzle, cheered enthusiastically, and joined in casual activities such as handball and card games throughout the day.
A highlight of the visit was the group’s final performance at the end of the carnival. Dressed in their cheerleading outfits, the students delivered a spectacular routine to the song Hey Mickey, impressing both staff and students alike. Their energy and enthusiasm were truly infectious and provided a memorable conclusion to their visit.
We thank the students and staff from Happy Science Academy for visiting Kellyville High School. We also commend our Year 9 and Year 10 students for being such welcoming and supportive hosts. Experiences like these are invaluable in fostering global understanding and creating lasting connections.
