Be part of the band 

On Tuesday 20 February, all Year 7s had the opportunity to see a number of the instruments in action with a presentation by staff and students. Now is the time to get the forms back and start lessons. Our training band rehearsals will be starting on Monday 18 March after school until 4.30pm and all beginner brass, woodwind and percussion students will be expected to attend. 

We still have a number of instruments available to hire, especially low brass and woodwind.

Oboe demonstration and piano workshop 

We are very lucky to have a professional oboist and pianist, Briana Leaman and Yasmin Rowe, coming to present a demonstration of the oboe and a piano workshop during session 5 on 22 March. This will be followed by a concert at 7pm that evening which will be free for all GSSC students. 

Work in Progress Concert 

Our first concert for the year will take place on Tuesday 26 March at 6pm in the Theatrette. This will involve all of our ensembles showing what they’ve rehearsed so far in 2024. All family and friends are welcome and we hope to see you there.
