WPS Community Children’s Garden
Thank you to everyone who participated in the Community Children’s Garden Pick Your Own Produce Sale on Friday 1 March. We were excited to count $100.35 in the donation bucket at the end of the day! All money raised has gone straight back into the garden to cover running costs such as seedlings, fertilizer, equipment, etc.
The garden is fully run by volunteers with little cost to the school, so donations of money or time are always welcome. The more volunteers we have, the less effort required by individuals. If you think you might like to help out regularly or once in a while, make contact with me and I’ll put you on our WPS Children’s Garden Whats app group. Through this us adults have formed our own adult’s garden club ‘community’ - swapping garden and cooking knowledge, organizing ad hoc garden maintenance, produce give aways, etc. Every Sunday I put a call out on the Whats app group asking for helpers for the Monday kids garden club. It’s a great way to connect with like-minded parents.
