Clean Up Australia Day
On Monday the 4th of March, our school participated in a Clean Up Australia Day activity. After the whole school picked up rubbish for 15mins, we had a look at what rubbish was collected.
Here are the results:
| Priority Items | Plastics | Random |
|---|---|---|
| Aluminium cans: 43 | Hard plastics: 162 | Glass: 50 |
| Balloons: 1 | Mixed plastics: 2 | Metal: 60 |
| Cigarette Butts: 1 | Soft plastics: 203 | Paper/Cardboard: 51 |
| Plastic Bags: 3 | Polystyrene: 20 | Textiles: 7 |
| Plastic bottles: 23 | Wood: 20 | |
| Plastic straws: 24 | Glass: 50 | |
| Plastic take-away food containers: 2 | Food scraps:16 |
We are proud of how much rubbish we collected as a school on Monday, however, it shows that students in our school should consider not taking wrappers outside or use the bins provided.
