Leadership Summit
Summit held at Overnewton
On Friday the 16th of February, the senior school student leaders had the honourable privilege to attend the student leadership summit held by Overnewton Anglican Community College. The whole day consisted of a variety of activities that had gotten a wide range of student leaders across the community involved. In between each activity, we had the opportunity to listen and interact with a few guest speakers like Amanda and Sky from YLAA, Christian Bien, MP Darren Cheeseman and 2 members of the proactive police unit who had discussed what we can do as youth leaders in the community to help inspire each other. The impact of this leadership event goes beyond what we could have imagined, it was so inspiring to see students from other schools coming together, learning, and collaborating for a common goal.
The workshops were a thrill, they had involved us with practical skills in self-leadership, communication, and creating student-led initiatives. The leaders all brought a load of knowledge and expertise that had resonated with all participants. Leadership Programs allow us to learn from inspiring leaders, tackle modern leadership challenges, and aid us in developing a strong network to work collaboratively with other students across Victoria. This helps us in establishing ideas and innovations which foster a positive learning environment at Taylors Lakes Secondary College
