Reports and attendance are two areas we focus on and celebrate as a campus, and an area where many of our students are kicking goals! It was very pleasing to see over half of our cohort achieve 3.5 and above in the first of our learning behaviours update. Congratulations to all, an outstanding achievement!

Year 10 was well represented at our recent college athletics day. Congratulations to all who participated and represented their house and our team.
On Wednesday 6th March we had Producers and Journalists from the ABC come in and work with Year 10 students, to support our current learning in English around the Craft of Writing. Students participated in workshops and began to produce their own biographical story. The Takeover Program allows students to tell their stories and shine a positive light on teens in the media, instead of all of the negative stories we currently hear. From these workshops, students are given the opportunity to submit their story to the ABC and the possibility of National coverage telling their story in the print media, radio and ABC television. It was a great opportunity to consolidate their current learning and tell their story.
Students are currently busy arranging work experience which will take place in Term 2 from Monday 15th to Friday 26th May.
Information and consent forms for our Year 10 trip to Tasmania will be out within the next couple of weeks. Please be aware that spots are limited and will be done on a first in best dressed basis. The camp/trip is always a highlight for the students and staff and is a great way to create positive memories the high school years. Please keep an eye out for this information.
With such a busy program and students representing the school in local workplaces across our region, Kurnai College has high expectations of all students’ behaviour in ways which reflect our values. The Year 10 team will continually communicate to the students on the expectations of attendance, behaviours and wearing correct uniform. We appreciate your support on these matters and respectfully remind you of notifying the school if your child is absent and signing out your child from the front office if you collect your child early from school.
