From the Principal
Hi everyone,
Firstly, thank you to all the parents who have offered to be on our Fiesta committee, we will always be looking for more support but I am pleased to say that we can now proceed with the event as planned. Please look out for save the date notices in the next few weeks. If there is anyone else that would like to help, please reach out to Melissa Crozier.
Thank you also to Tulin our EAL teacher and the volunteers who helped with our mini museum for Harmony week. This was a welcome addition to our Harmony Week celebrations this week and well received by our students and the parents. We have had a fantastic week, with fitting final day celebrations today.
As most of you are aware we now have automatic gates on both the Holland Road and Orchard Grove sides of the school that have set opening and closing times. The gates are set to close 5 minutes after the second morning bell (9.05 am) and reopen 5 minutes before the final bell (3.25 pm). Classrooms open at 8.50 am which allows 15 minutes between classrooms opening and the gates closing each morning.
Students who arrive late to school (after the 9 am bell) must be signed in via the Compass tablet at the office, preferably by the adult who dropped them off at school. Once the gates are closed the easiest access point to the office is via the Holland Road car park, otherwise by calling the office to gain access through the gates.
The ramp works are also nearing completion with the car park ramp hopefully opened in the final week of the term and the office ramp completed for the beginning of next term. We also have some additional ramp work commencing in the coming weeks in the Meadow and Year 3 area. There will be some additional work around the paths in the foundation playground area over the holidays as well.
Finally, at our School Council meeting last night we welcomed Casey Helman as a new member to council and reelected Kate Halford as President, Cherise Asirvadem as Vice President and Emily Walford as treasurer.
Thank you everyone for your ongoing support.
