Library News

Over the long break, our library received a fresh coat of paint and brand-new shelving! Due to unexpected delays, our shelving arrived later than planned. Although we were able to welcome students back to the library after the second week of term, the space remained a work in progress.

We are now making the library more inviting by displaying framed student artwork and adding indoor plants to complement our bright, open environment. Click on the link below to see a short video which showcases the transformation from the beginning of the year to the welcoming space we have today.

A huge thank you to our wonderful Parents and Friends community for helping fund part of our new shelving. Your dedication and past fundraising efforts have made a significant difference in updating our library, and we truly appreciate your support!

Looking ahead to next term, we plan to re-upholster some of our well-loved library furniture, initially purchased in 2005, ensuring comfort and longevity for years to come.

Thank you for being part of our library’s journey!

School Holiday Program

The 2025 April School Holiday program has been arranged, with full details available by clicking on the link below. Spaces fill up quickly, so we suggest that you enrol your child(ren) as soon as possible to avoid missing out.

Our School Holiday program is designed to be fun, stimulating and enjoyable, providing children an opportunity to explore the world around them and have fun in the process. Holidays are a time for children to relax and engage in different experiences and our program has been carefully designed with this in mind. Bookings must be are made through the Parent Portal.

Excursions are a key part of our Holiday Care program, however there are some excursions where 3-5 year old students will not be able to attend. See the program for more details.

Student Services

As you can appreciate, Student Services is a very busy area at all times of the day. We ask that parents do not use the College Office as a post office to pass items onto other students. We would appreciate parents, carers and students finding alternative methods of delivering and receiving second-hand purchases and other items.

Collection Notice

The Australian Government Department of Education would like to notify our families that they have requested Mount Carmel College to provide residential address and other information.

Under the Australian Education Regulations 2023, the school is required to provide the department with the following information about each student at the school:

  • names and residential addresses of the student’s parent(s) and/or guardian(s)

  • student residential address (excluding student names)

  • whether the student is a primary or secondary student (education level)

  • whether the student is boarding or a day student (boarding status).

The school collects the above information by generating a unique and unidentifiable student reference number (SRN) for each student record. The school only uses the SRN for this collection. The SRN cannot be used for any other purpose. The number only indicates to the department that each record provided is for one student.
