Clyde North Campus News

It’s hard to believe that Term 1 has already come to an end. With over 220 new Year 7 students and many others joining us in Years 8–11, the first day of term was a clear reminder of how much our school community continues to grow. Yet, from day one, the warmth and strength of our campus ensured that every new student quickly felt welcome and at home. This sense of belonging is a testament to the dedication and care shown daily by our teachers and support staff through the House System.
Establishing Routines has been key in creating a productive, safe, and supportive learning environment where students can thrive. We also recognise the outstanding leadership of our House and College Captains, who work tirelessly to support their peers across all year levels. Their commitment has been evident in every aspect of school life—whether through their presence in the yard, their leadership in campus and House assemblies, or their dedication to liturgies and social justice initiatives.
Each student leader has excelled this term, embodying the values of service, inclusion, and community. We are grateful for their contributions and look forward to an equally strong and inspiring Term 2.
Keeping Your Child Safe on Social Media Over the Holidays
As the school holidays approach, we encourage parents to be vigilant in monitoring their child's social media use. While technology provides enjoyment, connection, and entertainment, it can also be a platform for online bullying, harmful interactions, and distress. Group chats, class pages, and other social media platforms can sometimes foster exclusion, mean-spirited behaviour, and misunderstandings that impact a child’s well-being.
Holidays are a timely reminder that while phones, laptops, and social media are valuable tools, they also require responsible use. We urge you to keep an open dialogue with your child about their online interactions, set clear expectations, and check in regularly on their digital activity. Encourage positive online behaviour and remind them of the importance of kindness and respect in all communications.
To support ongoing education in this area, students in Years 7, 8, and 9 will take part in a Cyber Safety Seminar next term. This program will continue to educate young people on responsible social media use and online safety. Your support in reinforcing these messages at home is invaluable in ensuring a safe and positive experience for all students. Thank you for your cooperation in keeping our students safe online
The final weeks of term have been filled with activity, from the successful Year 11 Business Management Market Day—offering delicious food and unique items for sale—to House-led Project Compassion fundraisers. Events like car washes, cake stalls, a donut drive, and a classic raffle have helped raise much-needed funds to support those in need.
A huge thank you to everyone who contributed to these initiatives. Your efforts make a real difference in our community.

It has been an outstanding term of House Competitions with every House increasing student participation across all year levels and all competitions, from the grandeur of the 2025 Swimming Carnival to the inaugural House Public Speaking competition which will now become an annual event.
Augustine House took an early lead in the battle for top spot on the Ladder, but Marian and MacKillop Houses were quick to respond. The term ended with Marian House securing top position in the race for the Shield as they led the way in the final two events, Cross Country and Public Speaking. Congratulations to all Houses, staff and students for a wonderful term of competition and fun.
A special acknowledgment of the individual champions of the House Public Speaking competition:
Senior Winner: Ashley Bijoy – Augustine House
Intermediate Winner: Marley Dellacroce – Romero House
Junior Winner: Noura Abdulkareem – Marian House
The holidays offer a well-earned break for students and staff. For senior students, it’s also a chance to review Term 1 studies or get ahead for Term 2. While study is important, so is rest and balance.
Late last week, while walking across the Piazza, I saw the giant letters H O P E standing tall. Not a Hollywood-style sign, but a powerful reminder of our annual theme: Be the reason for hope.
Year 10 VM students built and painted these letters, which will feature in our Stations of the Cross liturgy on Thursday. Students and staff will post their messages of how we can bring hope to others.
This meaningful project connects us to the Easter message and our ability to be the reason for hope.
Wishing you all a blessed Easter and a safe, happy holiday.
