Devotion

Have you ever received a gift you didn't deserve? A gift given to you out of love? God is so great that He gives us His grace because of His love for us.

Grace is God showing His love to us even though we don't deserve it. We can't earn, buy or attain God's grace by our actions. It is purely and simply a free gift that God gave us through the sacrificial suffering and death of His beloved Son on the cross. But it doesn’t end with our Saviour on the cross; He rose again from death and ascended to glory also bringing that same glory and joy of the assurance of heaven to us. We can be assured of God’s grace and the relationship He built with us through it. God also shows His grace by giving us strength and guidance, and by taking care of us each day. God, by His grace, gives us strength to handle difficult problems in our lives. Isn't God's grace wonderful?

If we know Jesus as our Saviour, we can be thankful that God saved us by His grace. The Bible says,

"For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith . . ." (Ephesians 2:8).

We can also depend on God each day for the grace we need to live for Him. And because God shows His grace to us, we should show His grace to others. May this Lenten season be a time for us all to grow in our experience of God’s love and grace and draw near to God who gives us mercy and grace to help us just when we need it.

Heavenly Father,

Over and over, we have seen your work in our lives. It is Your sweet, pure grace regardless of how we mess things up or fail. Your grace redeems the bad days and gives us strength to walk into the good days. Your grace is full of love. Thank you.
