Year 3/4 News

Reading

We are learning how to become confident public speakers by the 5P's: pause,  pace, pitch, projection and personality, keep our audience interested and help get our message across.

Writing

We are learning how to develop strong ideas for speeches, and students have been busy brainstorming topics and thinking of reasons to support different points of view.

Maths

We are learning how to create and understand grids and maps. Students have been practising how to locate and place objects on a grid, describe their positions, follow and give directions using grid references, and even draw simple maps of familiar places.

Resilience Project

We are learning to understand why our brains focus on negatives and how gratitude helps shift our focus to positives.

Chickens

We’ve been super lucky to welcome some chickens to our school! A big thank you to the Fountis Family for generously donating the chickens and feed, and for fixing up our chicken coop. This term, our 3/4 students will be in charge of looking after them. Any eggs collected will be added to our food share table for families to enjoy.
