Principal News

Principal Appointment

I am thrilled to have been appointed as the Substantive Principal of Lockington Consolidated School officially commencing Term 3, 2025. I will continue in the role as Acting Principal until the end of this term. I feel so fortunate to be able to lead and work in such a great school with a dedicated and skilled team of teachers, Education Support staff and of course the amazing Business Manager, Lisa Lind! I know I don't need to tell you all what a wonderful bunch of kids you have, who brighten my day with their big smiles, great attitudes and willingness to learn. Thank you also to the Lockington Commmunity of parents, grandparents and friends who have made me feel so welcome.

Education Support Day

Today is about recognising the incredible work and support that Lisa L, Sheree, Tracey, Tammy, Ali,

Fiona and Jane provide to our students and teachers and keep our school running smoothly.

Happy Education Support Day to these wonderful people.

Education Week- you are invited!

Please join us on Friday May 23rd for our Open Classrooms Session, whole school assembly and rock painting. We would love to have as many people as possible add their decorated rock to our soon to be established GEM Garden space.  If you are joining us for the Open Classrooms Session, please sign in at the office and then head to the classroom/s of your choice to join in on a Resilience Project Session. We will gather for a whole school assembly in the BER at 10:30am.

Please note, the morning assembly replaces the usual Friday afternoon assembly.

New Playground

Our new Year 3-6 playground is open and our students have been having fun exploring all that it offers. The equipment is arranged in a circuit formation (known as a Ninja Course), but of course can be played on starting at any point. In the coming weeks the Parents and Friends will organise an official opening to thank businesses that made generous donations that enabled us to be able to purchase this new equipment- we will keep you posted regarding the date.

Xuno Permissions

Just a reminder that in order for our students to attend excursions, sports and camps that we require permissions to be completed on Xuno. These permissions provide us with the legal authority to transport and supervise your children whilst they attend the event. We are unable to take students who do not have signed permissions. In order to let the Department of Education know how many students we have attending an event, permissions must be provided at least 48 hours before an event.

If you are having difficulty signing in to Xuno or accessing forms please make contact with the office so we can assist. We do not like leaving students behind at school, but without signed permissions, we do not have a choice. Thank you in advance for your assistance with this.

Circus Challenge

On Wednesday 28th of May our school is hosting Circus Challenge. Circus Challenge is a fun, engaging, and hands-on experience for schools. Our aim is to get your students up and actively involved in physical and creative activities through performance and workshop classes. The Circus Challenge is not a traditional circus in the sense that we do NOT use clowns, animals and canvas tents. The Circus Challenge education program focuses on physical Education, Performing Arts and Team Building.

School Council

A reminder to our School Council members that our next meeting is scheduled for Tuesday May 20th at 6pm. Please let the office know if you are unable to attend.

That is all for this week, Lisa Duffy.
