Assistant Principal Report

Dear Highvale Families,
It’s been a busy and exciting couple of weeks at school, with a range of incursions taking place across different year levels. These experiences have provided valuable opportunities for our students to engage in hands-on learning and deepen their understanding across a variety of topics.
We’re also proud to share that a wonderful range of student work is currently on display in the foyer of the main building. Families are warmly invited to take a moment to view this celebration of learning when dropping off or picking up their children. It’s a fantastic showcase of the creativity and effort our students have put into their work.
Webinar: Raising Kids in a Digital World – TONIGHT - Thursday 15th May
We are excited to invite our school community to an upcoming online webinar, Raising Kids in a Digital World, which closely aligns with the Inform and Empower digital eSafety program that our students participate in at school.
This informative session will be held online on Thursday 15th May from 7:30pm to 9:00pm and will be presented by Martin McGauran, founder and digital eSafety educator of Inform & Empower. He will be joined by Carly McGauran, a registered psychologist. Together, they will deliver an honest and practical presentation covering the realities of online gaming, social media, cyberbullying, and managing devices at home.
We strongly encourage all families to register and attend this valuable session.

Parent Volunteer Training
A big thank you to all the parents and carers who attended our online Parent Volunteer Training session earlier this week. We greatly appreciate your time and commitment to supporting our school community. These training sessions are held at the beginning of each term and may take place either onsite or online. Upcoming sessions will be advertised in the school newsletter and via Compass.
A reminder that any parents wishing to volunteer or assist with school programs or events must hold a current Working With Children Check and have completed the Parent Volunteer Training and Induction. We look forward to working together to create rich and engaging experiences for our students.
School Photo Day – Thursday 29th May
A reminder to all families that school photos will be held on Thursday 29th May. All students are required to wear their full school uniform, including appropriate footwear.
Please ensure your child arrives on time and is neatly presented for the day. Further information about photo ordering has been sent home and is also available via Compass. We look forward to capturing these special school memories!
Dance Curriculum Program – Weeks 6 & 7
We are excited to announce that our Dance Curriculum Program will be running during Weeks 6 and 7! This engaging program supports key learning across multiple curriculum areas, including The Arts – Dance, Health and Physical Education, and Personal and Social Capabilities.
Throughout the two weeks, students will participate in daily 30-minute dance lessons with a qualified educator and dance instructor. They will have the opportunity to learn a variety of hip hop routines, develop their coordination and confidence, and build teamwork and social skills.
The program will conclude with a community performance on Friday 6th June, where families are invited to celebrate the students’ learning, growth, and achievements. Please see the Compass event for further information. We can’t wait to see our students shine on stage!
Enjoy the rest of your week.
Kind regards,
Kelly Soccio
