Habit 6 ~ Synergise!

PBL ~ Include Others

Include Others

Children need to be taught how to and get into the habit of including others, otherwise they tend to assume that others will join in if they want to. Ay Holy Family we teach students to include their peers who might be left out, in and out of the classroom, and seek them out with ‘friendly invitations’ such as:

  • Come join us! There’s lots of room.
  • Do you want to sit with us for lunch?
  • Do you like soccer? You can join our team!
  • Do you want to play tip with us?
  • We always need extra players.
  • Are you looking for a game to play? Play with us!

Leadership Word of the Week  Is Patience!

Definition: Patience is the ability to accept or tolerate delay, trouble, or suffering without getting angry or upset.

How can I be patient at school?

  • When you're in line or want to speak, take a deep breath and wait quietly. Everyone gets a turn!
  • If you feel upset or want something right away, use calm words like “May I have a turn, please?” instead of grabbing or shouting.
  • When your teacher or a friend is talking, listen without interrupting. Waiting helps you understand better and shows respect.

Sacred Geometry Spark Day

On Wednesday, we held a Sacred Geometry Spark Day at our school and we had multiple schools come to our school.

We had the opportunity to do many fun activities, including making symmetrical collages and making cool patterns with a compass that reflected patterns in nature. We started off the day by getting to know everyone and making new friends from different schools. Then we did a deep dive right into the fun artistic activities. We all loved the Spark Day and wish to do it again. Thank you so much, Mrs Dickinson, for helping with this fantastic learning experience. We learned many new, fun things.
