The CPS Cross Country Carnival will take place next week on Monday 5 May 2025. This event provides a wonderful opportunity for students to engage in physical activity alongside their friends while competing in a long-distance running event.
Students will be transported to Artarmon Reserve by bus. Please note that ALL students in Years 3, 4, 5, and 6 are required to attend. To give permission for your child to attend, please visit your School Bytes Parent Portal. Competitive Year 2 students who are 8 years old or turning 8 this year and wish to compete are also welcome.
This event allows students to compete to qualify for the Zone Cross Country Carnival. Students who qualify will be notified shortly after the carnival.
Save the date for the Ku-ring-gai Zone Cross Country Carnival, which will be held at St Ives Showground on Tuesday 20 May 2025, with a backup date of Tuesday 27 May.
We look forward to seeing all our students there!
In Term 2, we are offering our students the opportunity to participate in the NSW Public Schools Student Survey. The survey gives students the chance to share their thoughts and feelings about life at school, including questions about their engagement, learning experiences and wellbeing at school.
Hearing directly from our students will help us understand what’s working well and where improvements can be made to our school. The survey is confidential, takes around 10 to 15 minutes to complete, and will be conducted online during school hours.
Participation is voluntary. If you prefer your child NOT to participate, please complete the opt-out consent form attached and return it to the school email, with attention to Ms Samantha Silipo by Friday 9 May 2025.
Further information about the survey is available at https://education.nsw.gov.au/npss.

My DIY expert daddy:
I have chosen my dad to draw in my portrait. He has recently just fixed our bathroom, so I wanted show him how grateful I am. My dad used his spare time to renovate our bathroom but it took almost a year for him to finish! This drawing represents how happy and relieved he was when he finally finished his very first renovation job! Well done dad!

The “Hello Mandarin” Recitation Competition Australia (HMRCA) is an exciting language event held in schools across Australia. By participating in this competition, students will cultivate their cross-linguistic, cross-cultural comprehensive qualities and thinking abilities. This is an important event for learning Chinese, promoting Chinese culture, spreading friendship, promoting community harmony, and advocating peace. The Australian education authorities advocate and encourage the inheritance of mother tongue culture by all ethnic groups.
All students from K-6 can choose to sign up for the competition as individual contestants. We will also be setting up a school team for students across grades K to 6. More information about joining our school team will be provided to students in the coming weeks. If your child would like to participate as an individual applicant, please check out the following link for registration and relevant information of the competition.

A select group of Year 6 students will be attending the Coonamble excursion next week, leaving at 6am on Tuesday morning as a part of our Country City Alliance of Schools connection, connecting a cross-section of cultural, geographical, and socio-economic school communities in NSW. Students will be camping in the Warrumbungles National Park, engaging in learning about the significance of the park's volcanic landscape and rock formations, local flora and fauna, including endangered species and their habitats whilst on a bush walk and actions taken to converse the environment. Students will attend Coonamble Public School where they will participate in a rich cultural experience that highlights Indigenous practices and knowledge and strengthen their understanding of their role in building a society that is socially inclusive, cohesive, and mutually respectful of all cultures. We look forward to sharing our experiences when we return!
