From the Principal's Desk

Gracious and loving God, the cross of Christ is the sign  of your desire for justice and peace for all.

Open our minds to your vision as we remember all who suffered  through Australia’s involvement  in wars, conflicts and peacekeeping operations.

Grant all servicepersons  who sacrificed health and life for the good of all, the gift of your deep peace.

May we who inherit the freedom for which they fought become instruments of your peace  in our homes, workplaces and world.  Amen.

We are People of the Resurrection

Jesus, God's Son, came to Earth to teach people about God's love. He healed the sick, helped the poor, and showed kindness to everyone.

But some people didn’t like what Jesus was doing. They didn’t believe He was the Son of God, so they had Him arrested and put on a cross where he died. His mother and friends were heartbroken. They placed His body in a tomb and rolled a big stone in front of it.

But that wasn’t the end of the story...

On the third day, something amazing happened! Jesus came back to life!

When some women went to the tomb early in the morning, they saw that the big stone was rolled away, and Jesus’ body was gone. An angel told them, “He is not here! He has risen, just like He said!”

Jesus appeared to His friends and followers. They were so happy to see Him alive again! He told them not to be afraid and reminded them that He would always be with them.

What does this mean for us?

Jesus' resurrection shows us that:

  • God keeps His promises.
  • Jesus is stronger than death.
  • We can have hope and joy because Jesus is alive!

It’s why we celebrate Easter – because Jesus is alive!

We are celebrating 'Resurrection Day' on Wednesday, April 30th beginning with a Whole School Mass at 9.30a.m. Everyone is welcome to join us.

Students will then participate in a fun, activity session in multi-age groups with Kaboom! Students should wear their sports uniform and runners on this day.

STEP UP in 2025

This year, our school theme is STEP UP. We are all stepping up to challenges of all types to improve our learning and growing. In Term 1 we were focusing on our School Reskeys: Respect, Responsibility and Resilience as well as being Kind and Safe. There are displays of these values in our classrooms and we have been talking about what these words mean and look like in action. This term we have added being Friendly and Fair to our Steps. So, we are Stepping Up to being:

  • Respectful
  • Responsible
  • Resilient
  • Kind
  • Safe
  • Fair
  • Friendly

All the best,

Jane Dunstone
