A huge congratulations to the 9St Joseph’s College students who represented our school with pride and determination at the State Swimming Championships held at the Melbourne Sports and Aquatic Centre on Thursday.

The competition was fierce, but our students gave it their all in every event:

Each of our swimmers showed outstanding sportsmanship, courage, and commitment - an incredible achievement to reach this level of competition.

We are so proud of your efforts and the way you represented St Joseph’s College on the state stage.

LMR Tennis

It was a very early start for our tennis players, who travelled to Mildura for the Loddon Mallee Region Tennis on Tuesday. The conditions were ideal for lawn tennis, with no wind and perfect sunshine - resulting in a great day of Tennis.

Year 8 Boys

Won both of their matches - playing superb tennis in both their singles and doubles games against strong teams from Catherine McAuley College and Trinity College. These boys were calm yet calculated and their determination resulted in them making it through to the State finals in November!

Year 8 Girls

Played competitively, losing their first match to students from Victory, but then won comfortably against both McKillop and Chaffey College from Mildura. Our girls had some close games and tie breaks in their last match to finish runners up for their division which was an incredible result. These girls supported each other really well and showed terrific sportsmanship on the day.

Intermediate boys

Played a very strong team from Catherine McAuley College and despite starting with an early lead after losing two tie breaks in their singles matches they lost by only one set. Irymple also gave great competition but our Inter boys were able to come out on top with some great doubles performances. These two matches resulted in our boys coming runners up for the day, which they should be incredibly proud of as they composed themselves so well.

Senior girls

Won their first two matches convincingly over Swan Hill and then Bendigo Senior Secondary College, playing really strong tennis in all their singles matches and experiencing many long rallies in their doubles games. They then faced tough competition, losing to Wycheproof, but not without some solid games and crafty shots. Our senior girls also came runners up which they are to be commended for with their gracious attitudes and friendly dispositions on court at all times.

Our students all represented our College with positive behaviour, awareness of their team members and a healthy attitude for school sports. Well done to each and every one of you for giving it your best shot.

We are so proud of you all! Huge thank you to our coaches Jordan Grant, Matilda Chisvo and Vanessa Mahoney.

House Cross Country - Monday 5 May

Get ready to lace up your sneakers and embrace the thrill of the outdoors at our School House Cross Country event on Monday 5 May!
