Wellbeing News

Welcome back to all students and families and a very warm welcome to our new students and families who have joined us at the start of Term 2. It’s been wonderful to see students jumping straight back into learning with continued high expectations.

The Resilience Project

The Inspire Parent/Carer Hub content is designed to keep families engaged in the program. It includes information about the key principles of Gratitude, Empathy, Mindfulness and Emotional Literacy, along with the benefits of regularly practising these. Additionally, it offers activities that families can practise at home to support their wellbeing.

The Hub can be accessed via the secure link below, with no account setup or login required: https://theresilienceproject.com.au/2025-parent-carer-hub-inspire-2/

This week in the Learning Mentor lesson, students explored mindfulness. Mindfulness is our ability to be calm and present at any given moment. We invite you to take some time out and practise mindfulness. When we practise something enough, it becomes a habit.

Vaping Education

In the coming weeks our students will participate in an education session presented by Echuca Regional Health during the Learning Mentor lesson. Year 9, 10, 11 and 12 students will participate on Tuesday 13 May. Year 7 and 8 students will particiate on Tuesday 10 June.

Parents, carers, schools and community all play an important role in protecting children and young people from, and educating them about, the harmful effects of smoking and vaping.

Research from VicHealth shows that young people care about what their parents, carers and older siblings think and do about vaping.

The Department of Education has developed resources to help you learn more about the health risks of smoking and vaping. The resources include advice about how to talk to children and young people about vaping, and where to get support. To access the resources, go to https://www.vic.gov.au/smoking-and-vaping-advice-parents

You can also view this video on smoking and vaping from experts at the Royal Children’s Hospital Melbourne for health advice and tips for starting a conversation with young people.

Uniform

As we enter Term 2, we continue to have high expectations with uniform. Students are reminded that PE uniform is to be worn on days of practical activity only and academic uniform is to be worn on all other days.
