Principal's Report

As we settle into Term 2, I would like to take a moment to reflect on the many meaningful events and exciting developments taking place across our College community.

Last week, we gathered as a whole school at our Brigidine Campus to commemorate Anzac Day. The ceremony was a moving and respectful tribute to the courage and sacrifice of our servicemen and women, both past and present. Our students led with dignity and pride as they carried wreaths, rosemary and crosses in remembrance. Special thanks to our staff and students who participated in the local community services over the Anzac Day weekend, representing St Joseph’s College with great honour.

It is with a heavy heart that we also acknowledge the recent passing of Pope Francis. His deep compassion, humility and unwavering commitment to peace and social justice have touched the lives of many around the world. We continue to pray for his eternal rest and give thanks for the spiritual leadership he offered so generously to the global Catholic community.

Looking ahead, I’m thrilled to announce the expansion of our Arts and Sports Academies in 2026. These innovative programs will be extended to include students in Years 7–10, providing even more opportunities for our young people to explore their passions, strengthen their skills, and grow in confidence. This is a significant step forward as we continue to enhance student engagement and personalised learning at St Joseph’s.

From this Friday, I will be taking a period of Long Service Leave. I’m pleased to share that Ms Rachel McAsey will step into the role of Acting Principal during my absence. Rachel is an experienced and dedicated leader who brings a deep understanding of our College values and culture. I have every confidence that St Joseph’s College is in safe and capable hands.

Thank you to our families for your ongoing support and partnership. I look forward to reconnecting with you all soon and wish you a rewarding and positive start to Term 2.

God Bless.
