EMTC
In its milestone 50th year, Echuca-Moama Theatre Company (EMTC) is ‘taking a chance’ on one of the world’s most beloved musicals, Mamma Mia!
And its stellar cast features several St Joseph's College alumni who will bring the timeless magic of ABBA to audiences in May.
They include teacher Honni Goulding as the loveable and sassy Rosie — one third of the famous Donna and the Dynamos.
Former student Gen McLindon stars as Donna's determined and spirited daughter Sophie — a young bride-to-be who dreams of her father walking her down the aisle. But there is a problem — she doesn’t know who he is.
After reading her mother's diary, Sophie invites three men (and potential dads) from Donna’s past — Sam, Harry, and Bill — brought to life by Matt McLindon (Gen's actual dad!), Darcy Elliott, and Gerard Oman (St Joe's graduate) respectively.
Gen's sister Anna McLindon (another former student) plays Sophie's best friend Ali, while Honni's son Parker Goulding is the groom's mate Eddie.
The show also features a spectacular ensemble and 12-member dance troupe, which include current students Claire Colturi, Poppy Coombs, Sam Serpell, Charlie Serpell, Melanie Francis, and former students Ella Goulding (Honni's daughter), Jess and Amali Nunan, Alyssa Morphett, Ruby Oman, Brigid Dullard and Ben Harris.
We wish them all the best with the production or rather 'break a leg' and encourage our school community to see the show and support our own.
EMTC presents Mamma Mia! at Echuca Paramount from May 16-24.
