Talking the Talk

Starting next week, all of our classes will be taking part in 'Talking the Talk - a classroom sexuality health program that focuses on physical, social, and emotional changes, protective behaviours and consent.

The lessons will be taught by class teachers and contain age-appropriate content in line with the Australian Curriculum and focused on respectful relationships, consent and sexuality education. The program has been developed by Vanessa Hamilton, a sexual health nurse and expert in the area of healthy, positive sexuality education.

Thank you to the 65 families who attended Monday's online parent session with Vanessa. This session provided further information about the program as well as broader information and tips on how parents can discuss these important (but sometimes tricky) topics at home.

Please see last week's newsletter for more details on the program and don't hesitate to contact Neil on neil.scott@education.vic.gov.au if you would like to discuss these sessions further.

RUN CLUB: ANZAC Edition!

Run Club is back this week!

Join us to celebrate the ANZAC spirit with a playlist of tunes from Aus and NZ artists, and a homemade ANZAC biscuit (* vegan available) to finish.

For the start of the cooler weather, Run Club is moving to the shelter of the Pavillion. For safety, we need everyone to stick to the grass oval for running (not the paths where commuter bikes and e-scooters speed through). For those days when it’s wet underfoot, please consider a change of shoes/socks for your children.

Run Club is on every Friday morning there is school8:15am-8:45am. Meet us at the Pavillion across the oval from school. Kids run laps each week, and get certificates at assembly for milestones.

Term 2, 2025 Chicken Sitters

Our four beautiful chickens who live a life of luxury in our amazing chook house (located in the quiet area behind the Kitchen Dining Room) require care throughout term 2.

You will be required to check in on the chickens, collect the eggs, top up food and water, remove manure and replace hay. This should take 15 minutes maximum. However, you are welcome to hang out and relax with the chickens if you would like.

If you think you can help out and for further information, please click on the link below.

Supporting Each Other: The SKiPPS Community Pantry 🥫💛

Did you know we have a SKiPPS Community Pantry right here at school? It’s stocked with non-perishable food and household items, available for any families in our school community to take from, free of charge, at any time. Whether you're in need of a few essentials or just want to top up the lunchbox, the pantry is there to support you—no questions asked.

The pantry is located next to our lost property racks, just off the quadrangle.

We also warmly welcome donations to help keep the pantry stocked. If you’ve picked up some extra groceries or have spare pantry staples like cereal, muesli bars, pasta, rice, or toiletries, we’d love to add them to the shelves. It’s a simple but powerful way to look out for each other and build the kind of school community we can all be proud of.

Let’s keep making SKiPPS a place where everyone feels supported and included.
