Camps, Sports and Excursions Fund (CSEF) Applications

The Department of Education Camps, Sports and Excursions Fund helps eligible families to cover the costs of school trips, camps and sporting activities.

If you have a valid means-tested concession card, such as a Veterans Affairs Gold Card, Centrelink Health Care Card, or Pensioner Concession Card, or are a temporary foster parent, you may be eligible. There is also a special consideration category for asylum seeker and refugee families.

Payment amounts this year are $150 for eligible primary school students. Payments are made direct to the school to use towards expenses relating to camps, excursions, and sporting activities for the benefit of your child.

If you applied for CSEF through our school last year, you do not need to complete an application form this year, unless there has been a change in your family circumstances such as a change of custody, change of name, concession card number, or new siblings commencing at the school in 2024.

If you would like to apply for the first time, or have any further questions, please speak to the office staff.

Parent Payments

Thank you to all the parents who have finalised, or commenced paying, their child’s/children’s school levies for 2024.  The School Levies payment enables us to continue to offer programs across the school to enhance the learning of all students. It also covers all the student’s stationery, Art, Performing Arts and LOTE supplies for the year, as well as enabling us to be able to provide and upkeep our iPads and laptops across the school.

Parent payments are posted on Compass and can be paid through the Compass portal or, alternatively, through the school bank account, BPAY or by coming into the office and paying via cash or EFT.

Financial Support For Families

Scoresby Primary School understands that some families may experience financial difficulty, and offers a range of support options including:

  • State Schools’ Relief provides support to any Victorian student attending a government school (primary, secondary or specialist) with uniform. Applications are processed by the school on the family’s behalf.
  • Camps, Sports and Excursions Fund provides payments for eligible students to attend camps, sports and excursions (refer above for more information).
  • Flexible payment arrangements.
  • There are also many outside agencies who can assist families in need.

For a confidential discussion about accessing these services, or if you would like to discuss alternative payment arrangements or organise a payment plan for 2024, contact Tina Clark, Business Manager on 03 97637484, or email Tina.Clark@education.vic.gov.au

Compass Tips

Contacting Teachers

Teachers can be contacted via Compass through the Parent Portal, which is found on the homepage of the website. If you are using a phone app to access Compass, you will need to click on the "More" button on the lower right of the page, then select "Open in Browser".

In the Parent Portal, underneath each student's name, there is an option to email the student's teachers. This will send an email to all of the student's teachers including their main teacher as well as the specialists, so click the red cross on the right to remove the teachers you do not need to email. Any replies will come directly to the parent's email.

Events

When accepting an event and providing consent in Compass, you will need to type the parent/guardian’s name to provide consent in the section just below the event information.  You will not be able to select a payment type unless the consent has been provided.

Further information can be accessed via https://www.compass.education/guide#section-06

If you have any questions, please speak with the Office staff.

Sick Bay Linen Roster - Volunteers Needed

Thank you to the parents who have volunteered to assist with the Sick Bay linen. This special task requires helpers to change the Sick Bay bed linen - only one bed - at the end of each week, take home used linen for washing and return clean linen the next week. With plenty of volunteers, this job can be shared around across the term/s.  This is a necessary job to ensure the health and safety of all students who might use the First Aid Room and we appreciate the assistance of those parents who generously help out with this.

If you would be able to help, please call in at the Office or email raelene.davis@education.vic.gov.au  by Friday 16th February so we can create a roster.
