Farmyard Fun
Thanks again to all the families that have volunteered this term, the chickens are being very well looked after.
On Friday we had a Working Bee on the farm and thanks to some hard working people we have a wonderful clean chicken house for our children to visit. Thanks to those that volunteered their time to help out.
I also had some very helpful grade 6 girls that came over recess on Friday to help me clean the chook beds and feeding tubes. Thanks girls you did a great job!
It's been wonderful seeing the children come into the farm yard to visit the chickens on a Wednesday at lunch. They have been helping out with topping up their feed, filling up their water and putting new straw in the nesting boxes.
The farm is a great place for classes to come to get great ideas to write about. Grade 1 came to the farm last week and then did a writing task on what they observed at the farm.
Last week we had the preps visit the farm for the first time, we opened the farm especially for them at recess, they had a wonderful time exploring!
School holidays are two weeks away and I am looking for families to help out on the farm over the break. It's only for two days and your kids will love it. Please email me with your preferred dates at joanne.magnik@sjvermont.catholic.edu.au if you can volunteer your time. Your help is greatly appreciated.
