Visible Wellbeing
Dandenong High School is working with Professor Lea Waters on introducing a new approach to positive education in schools. Visible Wellbeing is the culmination of years of research and practice by Lea.
Visible Wellbeing is a whole school approach which takes the concepts of positive education and presents them in a practical manner so that students, staff and our whole community experience positive education rather than learning about it.
Visible Wellbeing follows 6 SEARCH Pathways which are presented as modules to staff over an 18 month period of time. The modules are Strengths, Emotional Management, Attention and Awareness, Relationships, Coping and Habits & Goals. This is supported by the idea of See, Hear and Feel which is the way we read and recognise the state of wellbeing of another person.
As your students will experience this over the next 18 months and beyond we want you to be aware of this taking place at school.
A flyer is attached advertising an online Parent Information session on Thursday 29th February. A registration link is on the flyer below.

Introducing ACA – People Outdoors: Camps for People Living with Disability
‘Adventure For All’ People Outdoors, a program of the Australian Camps Association, was established in 1989 to provide outdoor recreation for people of all ages living with disability. Our programs include two-night weekend through to four-day residential camps held during the school holidays. Our participants are looked after by our team of disability support workers for the duration of camp. So, if you’d like the opportunity to experience the social and developmental benefits of adventure outdoors, please contact our team on 03 9863 6824 or visit our website for more information – www.peopleoutdoors.org.au
