Principal’s Report

Mr Prasad

Dear students, parents and carers,

New gym equipment for students in the playground.
New gym equipment for students in the playground.

As we conclude an enriching first term, I am pleased to think back on the many achievements and vibrant activities that have marked our school year so far.

Our students have exhibited outstanding dedication and talent across various areas. From sporting excellence to outstanding performances in co-curricular activities like dance, the range of our students’ accomplishments is truly inspiring. Our annual swimming carnival earlier this term not only showcased athletic ability but also highlighted the spirit of our school.

Furthermore, our commitment to a well-rounded education for every student was evident in our diverse range of excursions to cultural venues such as the Sydney Opera House and the Art Gallery of NSW, and to academic institutions like the University of Technology, Sydney. These experiences not only broadened horizons but also instilled a deep appreciation for the arts, sports, and further education.

Within our school, we celebrated the strength and achievements of women during International Women’s Day, promoting equality and empowerment among our students. It was a wonderful event, as we invited past alumni back to Merrylands High to inspire our current female students. Looking ahead, we are eagerly anticipating significant whole-school events like Harmony Day and the Athletic Carnival next term, where we will continue to foster a sense of unity, inclusivity, and healthy competition.

I would like to extend my thanks to our dedicated staff, parents, and our students for making our first term at Merrylands High School a resounding success. Let us continue to make the most of upcoming opportunities to tackle the challenges ahead, as we strive for excellence and growth as a school.

Wishing you all a relaxing term break.
