Nugal-nganjin Garden

Nugal-nganjin means 'Ours';  our garden was named by Aunty Gail of the Wurundjeri Tribe

Welcome back! We hope this newsletter finds you well-rested and ready for an exciting term ahead. After a six-week break, our school grounds have undergone a remarkable transformation. The growth has been impressive, and it's not just the students who have flourished; our gardens have too!

Green Transformation

During the break, nature took its course, and our school grounds have become a vibrant tapestry of blooming flowers, lush greenery, and flourishing vegetation. It's heartening to witness the positive impact of the break on our environment. The classrooms may have been empty, but our gardens were hard at work growing and thriving.

However, as with any garden, there are areas that need a little extra care. Weeds have also taken advantage of the fertile ground and warm weather, making their presence known. But fear not – with a collective effort, we can keep our school looking pristine and welcoming.

'Give an Hour' Working Bee

To tackle the weeds and ensure our school continues to be a beautiful and inspiring place for learning, we are excited to announce this year’s upcoming 'Give an Hour' Working Bee. This community-driven event relies on the generosity of our parents and volunteers to help maintain our school grounds.

Dates: To be Advised

We encourage all parents to keep an eye out for the official dates, which will be announced shortly. Your participation, even if for just an hour, can make a significant difference in maintaining the beauty of our school environment.

Call for Volunteers

If you find yourself with a bit of spare time before/after drop-offs and pick ups, consider lending a hand. Aasta, our dedicated gardening coordinator, will be available to provide you with the necessary gardening gear and guidance.

A Green Community Effort

Our school is not just a place of education; it's a community that thrives when everyone contributes. By coming together for the 'Give an Hour' Working Bee, we not only nurture our physical surroundings but also reinforce the sense of belonging and shared responsibility within our community.

Let's make our school a haven of growth, both academically and environmentally. We look forward to seeing you at the working bee and appreciate your ongoing support in creating a thriving, green environment for our children.

The garden is continuing to have new additions. If you have plants you grow at home that represent your culture we'd love to add them to the garden. Chat to David or Aasta to arrange this!
