REGISTRATIONS FOR WINTER 2024 SEASON

The Closing Date for registrations is Friday 23 February at 5:00pm.  

A late fee of $50 per player will be charged if you do not register your child by the closing date. Once you click on the correct registration link, you will be presented with a screen that displays a Season Information screen; please click on

If it is your first time using PlayHQ, you will be required to create an account.  The account should be created using a parent’s details. Once the account has been created, you will be able to log into the system and register each of the players accordingly.

 

FEES

This season the Club registration fee has been set at $150. In addition, you may have to pay*:

Basketball Victoria (BV) Annual Participation Licence fee for insurance purposes.  The BV annual fee is $29 for Juniors and $43 for players 18yrs and over.  This fee will be listed as a separate item at payment and will cover the player for 365 days (2 seasons). From January 1, 2024, an annual Basketball Australia (BA) Game Development levy of $5.00 (+GST) per competition player will be introduced nationwide. 

The introduction of this levy will enable Basketball Australia to expand opportunities within the basketball community, providing enhanced services and support across Australia, expediting their priority areas of coach development, pathways for officials, and digital transformation. Therefore, the total registration payment for juniors is $179 and for players 18 years and over is $193 (where the BV and BA fees are due).If you are playing multiple games for Wattle Park Saints (e.g. Friday and Saturday) you need to register for each game using the links above.Please take care with registering your child into the correct competition and ensure their details are entered correctly.  Any questions or issues, please contact Sally Marks on info@wattleparksaints.org.au

 

LATE REGISTRATIONS

If you have not registered by 5:00pm Friday 23 February, you will need to email the Registrar on info@wattleparksaints.org.au with the player details (name, date of birth, playing day) to be placed on a waiting list.  If places then become available due to a lack of numbers in a particular age group or the like, those places will be allocated to those who first expressed an interest to be considered for selection after registrations close.  There will be a LATE FEE of $50 per late registrations accepted.

 

REFUNDS

Please consider your registration carefully as refunds for withdrawal are only available in limited circumstances (for example medical grounds). All refunds will incur a $25 Administration fee and only apply to the Club portion of the Registration. We cannot refund the Basketball Victoria Annual Participation Licence fee of $29/$43, the Basketball Australia Participant Fee (Game Development Levy) of $5 or any other administrative charges incurred by the Club in any circumstances. Any application for refund needs to be forwarded to the Registrar at info@wattleparksaints.org.au setting out the reason for the refund.  ADDITIONAL COSTSContribution to weekly team sheets & refereeing costs – your team manager will collect approx. $11 per week to cover the team sheets/refereeing costs. For ease of administration, some team managers may collect a larger amount once a term.UNIFORMSIf you are a new family to Wattle Park Saints you MUST ORDER A UNIFORM AT THE TIME OF REGISTRATION!  PLEASE NOTE IT CAN TAKE UP TO 6 WEEKS FOR THE UNIFORM TO BE PROCESSED. Please order a playing uniform, replacement items or other WPS merchandise (hoodies, sports bags, backpacks, t-shirts and long sleeved tops) through the link https://www.impactsports.com.au/club/wattle_park/ If you have any questions about ordering a uniform please contact Bhagya Srinvas by email at uniforms@wattleparksaints.org.au TRYOUTS / TEAM SELECTIONSThe club will not be conducting tryouts. Team selections will be based on the “Team Selection Policy” found on the club's website. Players will be added to teams in the appropriate age group based on their DOB unless otherwise requested in the playing request. For Winter Season the player must be under the age of the prescribed competition (8, 10, 12, 14, 16, and 18) on the 31 December in the year prior to which the competition commences. TEAM LISTSEvery effort will be made to have team allocations communicated 2 weeks before season commencement. Please note that every effort will be made to accommodate playing requests. It is not possible to meet these requests fully in every case and your understanding is appreciated.WINTER 24 SEASON DATESPlayers will be notified in respect of their training details following team allocation. 

  • Training starts week commencing Monday 15 April (subject to venue access)
  • Monday games commence on Monday 15 April
  • Friday games commence on Friday 19 April 
  • Saturday games commence on Saturday 20 April

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED

Wattle Park Saints relies on volunteers to keep the club operating. At registration members will be asked to nominate where they would like to support the Club. Roles include; Team Manager, Coach (further information below), Coaching Development & Recruitment, Team Formation, Committee Roles, Sponsorship/Fundraising, Events, Communications and Marketing, Player Development and Recruitment/Retention.  We understand everyone is busy and may have many other commitments, but this may involve as little as 2 hours for the season.   

 

TEAM MANAGERS NEEDED

All teams require a Team Manager each. Each Team Manager must hold a current Working With Children Card. Teams will not be processed to registration without a Team Manager. Training is provided to those Team Managers who have not done the role before. If you are able to assist please mark the appropriate field at registration.

 

JUNIOR COACHES

Wattle Park Saints also encourages junior players to take on a coaching role for younger age groups. Junior coaches are paid $500 for their efforts coaching during the season. If your son or daughter wishes to be considered to coach a junior team please indicate this interest when asked during the registration process. The club will discuss what is required of junior coaches to anyone that expresses interest. For further information please Glen Perry at info@wattleparksaints.org.au 

 

COACH & TEAM MANAGER REGISTRATIONWattle Park Saint is committed to maintaining a safe playing environment for our athletes. If you are a intending to be a Coach (parent or junior) or Team Manager, you will also need to register through PlayHQ using the same registration link as above. You will need to enter your Working With Children's Check details.  There are no Coach/Team Manager registration fees.
