Interesting music fact: A Stanford study shows that music engages areas of the brain which are involved with paying attention, making predictions and updating events in our memory.

EMC Music Festival

Congratulations to all of the 120 students in the Instrumental Music Program for their performances as part of the EMC Music Festival! The audience was entertained with performances across two stages in the Auditorium and the Resource Centre. The coffee van kept the audience well caffeinated and the Bake Sale was fantastic, raising monies to go towards the purchase of music equipment and instruments. Thank you to all of the families who donated baked goods!

The festival featured performances by; Junior Concert Band, Vocal Ensemble, Intermediate Band, Junior Guitar Ensemble, Junior Percussion Ensemble, Senior Guitar Ensemble, Senior Percussion Ensemble, Stage Band and Senior Band as well as performances by some soloists and small groups. The evening culminated in a massed band performance involving all 120 music students performing the Polar Express. Click on the link below to have a look.
