The Angelus
For the remainder of this term and at the beginning of Term 3, we will be exploring The Angelus. As a school, along with other schools in the Armidale Diocese, we will be pausing in the middle of the day to pray The Angelus together.
The Angelus isn’t just an old tradition, it’s a spiritual "pause" button for our fast-paced lives. When we pray it, we are remembering the Annunciation, when the Angel Gabriel told Mary she would be the Mother of Jesus, we honor the moment God became man to walk among us. It is an invitation to bring stillness into our busy afternoons, reminding us that God is truly ever-present in our families, school, friendships, and even our games.
First Holy Communion Retreat Day
Last Thursday the 25th of June, students in Year 3 participated in a Retreat Day. They spent the day together reflecting on the Sacrament of First Eucharist. Thankyou to the Year 3 teachers and the parents who helped with cooking the BBQ for providing this wonderful day.
Sacrament of First Holy Communion
Congratulations to the students who celebrated the Sacrament of First Holy Communion on Sunday, 28 June, at St Joseph’s Church, Gunnedah. They were joined by their families and parishioners to celebrate Mass and receive the Eucharist for the first time. Thank you to everyone who has supported them in their preparation for the sacrament, especially Fr Mario.
Thank you for supporting our first Vinnies Winter Appeal Fundraiser - Team Colours Day. We raised $400 which Vinnies volunteers used to buy food and essential items for people in our local community.
This Friday we will have our final Vinnies Winter Appeal Fundraiser - Pyjama Day. Donations can either be a gold coin or a clean blanket. We have a basket in the shared space where blankets can be placed. Blankets can be donated any day this week.
