A Couple of Requests for Families

As always, we greatly appreciate the support of our families in helping us maintain a calm, inclusive and positive learning environment for all students. We would like to share two requests with the community.

Squishy Toys

Over recent weeks, we have noticed a significant increase in the number of students bringing "squishy toys" to school. While these toys can be fun to play with and collect, they are increasingly becoming the source of social issues and playground disagreements.

In the past week alone, we have had students become upset after squishy toys have been lost or broken at school, students trading and arguing over toys at recess and lunch, and instances where children have felt excluded from games or friendship groups because they did not have a squishy toy of their own.

To help avoid these issues and ensure break times remain focused on positive play and social interaction, we are asking all families to please leave squishy toys at home and not bring them to school.

From this point forward, any squishy toys brought to school will be asked to be put away in students' bags and not played with during class time, recess or lunch.

We thank families for supporting this request and helping us minimise unnecessary playground conflicts.

Lollies at School

We would also like to remind families that students should not bring lollies to school for any reason. This includes lollies packed in lunchboxes, stored in school bags or coat pockets, or brought to school to share with friends.

We understand that students occasionally receive treats outside of school, however lollies can create issues around sharing, allergies, fairness and classroom distractions. We therefore ask that all lollies remain at home and are not consumed at school.

Thank you for your support and cooperation with both of these matters. Working together helps us ensure that school remains a positive, safe and inclusive place for all students.
