Year 12 Return Assembly

One of the genuine highlights of any year at Myrniong is the Year 12 Return Assembly. This year, we welcomed back 21 Year 12 students who commenced their College journey at the Early Learning Centre and/or Junior School. The final walk up the oak-lined driveway is always an emotional start to the afternoon. Throughout the Assembly, we shared a trip down memory lane with the Year 12s and their families. As a cohort, they were always supportive of each other, looked to push their comfort zones, and were an academic, sporty, artistic, humorous, personable, and creative group of students. We wish them well for Speech Day, the upcoming VCE examinations and life beyond school.

Myrniong Visual Art Exhibition

The Junior School Art Exhibition opens next Monday, with the gallery of ELC 4 to Year 6 works on display before and after school through to Friday in the Myrniong Art Centre.  Congratulations to the talented Mrs. Bec Cameron and the wonderful ELC/Junior School artists.  If you are booked in for a Parent/Teacher Interview on Wednesday 29 October, call into the exhibition before or after your appointment.

Walk/Ride to school day

Our second Walk/Ride to School Day for this year will take place next Friday, 31 October. Parents are warmly invited to join us on the walk/ride from Senior Campus to Junior School. To access the Ride to School offering, students must be capable bicycle riders. No scooters, please.  We will need some parents on bicycles to join the staff in chaperoning the riders safely to Myrniong.  Helmets are mandatory for all bicycle riders.  Please email Mrs. Povey in the Junior School Reception if you can assist with the Ride to School.

ELC 4 students are most welcome to join the walkers. They must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.  We look forward to an energising start to the day.

Junior School Drama Showcase

For the first time at the Junior School, we will be presenting a ‘Christmas Downunder’ Drama Showcase on Friday 21 November at 2.00pm in the Simons Auditorium at Senior Campus. This event will be the feature of our 2025 ‘Grandparents’ Day’ celebrations. Prep to Year 6 students will be on stage in this ‘all singing, all dancing’ affair. Mrs. Povey recently emailed home a ‘Costume Guide’ and we thank parents for their support in sourcing items of clothing for the students.

Tea and coffee will be provided for visiting grandparents, from 1.30pm in the foyer of The Kantor Family Music and Performing Arts Centre.

College Christmas Cakes

A delicious assortment of small and large College Christmas cakes is available for purchase from Mrs. Povey at the Junior School Reception. Small cakes are $30.00 and large $50.00.  Our Year 6 students have provided some stunning artwork on this year’s boxes.

Captain's Corner

Last Friday, we held a ‘Crazy Hair Day’ to raise money to post our 11 ‘Operation Christmas Child’ shoeboxes. Thank you to all those who came to school with crazy shaped and coloured hair.  We raised $141.00 through gold coin donations.
