World Teachers' Day
Last Friday, we joined schools and communities around the world to celebrate World Teachers' Day. This special day was an opportunity to recognise and honour the incredible dedication, passion, and hard work our teachers bring to the classroom every day.
We were honored with a delicious luncheon prepared by our dedicated and hardworking P&C. Our teachers were extremely grateful. Thank you so much!
Our teachers are the heart of our school community. They inspire, challenge, and support our students to achieve their very best, fostering a love of learning that lasts a lifetime. Their commitment goes beyond teaching; they mentor, guide, and nurture students to become confident, curious, and compassionate individuals. Some examples in this past week were the Year 4 Camp, the Year 4 excursion and the Basketball tournament. These events take a great deal of organisation, before and after school hours, all for the benefit of our students.
To our wonderful teaching staff — thank you for your unwavering dedication and positive impact on our school community. Your work transforms lives, shapes futures, and builds a brighter tomorrow for all our students.
School Counsellor and School Psychologist Recognition Day
Join us in celebrating our school counsellors and school psychologists for their contribution to the wellbeing of our school communities on Friday 7 November.
This year’s theme is ‘Together we grow’, highlighting how our school counsellors and school psychologists create the conditions for growth – for students, school communities and the profession itself. This day provides a wonderful opportunity to acknowledge and celebrate the invaluable contributions that the school counselling staff within our school make each day in supporting students, families, and the broader school community. Thank you Mrs Brown, Ms McPake and Mrs Huynh for their role in fostering resilience, nurturing growth, and helping our students and school community flourish.
Australia's new social media restrictions for under 16s
From 10 December 2025, many social media platforms will be required to prevent Australians under 16 from creating or maintaining accounts on certain age-restricted services. The changes aim to protect children from pressures and risks they can be exposed to while logged in to social media accounts.
The eSafety Commissioner is leading the implementation of the law. They are responsible for identifying platforms and supporting the community with information and resources.
Under-16s will still be able to see publicly available social media content that doesn’t require logging into an account. There are no penalties for young people who use age-restricted platforms or for their parents and carers as the responsibility is with the platforms.
We encourage you to access eSafety’s resources and support for families on their website and register for one of the upcoming webinars for parents and carers.
