Education Week
Public Education Week, previously known as Education Week, is a state-wide annual event, held by the NSW Department of Education from 5-9 August 2024 (Term 3, Week 3), to celebrate NSW public education.
Public Education Week celebrates the achievements of local schools, their students, teachers and the value of public education to communities across NSW.
In 2024 Public Education Week, celebrates the theme: "Proud to belong".
Public Education Week is a time for all of us to feel “proud to belong”, sharing our pride in being part of NSW public education and the achievements of our students and staff.
Public Education Week is also when we celebrate and acknowledge all those who contribute to our children and young people’s educational journey. School staff, parents and carers, community leaders and P&C associations all play an important role in our students' education.
As part of our Public Education week celebrations, we held our Education Week Assembly, where we were able to recognise our students across all KLA's. It was great to see so many of our students being celebrated for their hard work and dedication.
Congratulations to those students. Please enjoy the photos.
We also celebrated the official reopening of our newly improved Performing Arts Centre, with Principal Adam Forrester officiating the ceremony.
Some of the key improvements include new flooring, stage curtains, air conditioning, lighting, blinds, a leveled stage, and the removal of the false ceiling. We’re also excited to have added a baby grand piano with the kind donations from our P&C and Wind Rock.
The opening was followed by performances from our drama, dance, and music students. Thank you to everyone who attended.
It was fantastic to see our students performing in this amazing new space. We would like to express our gratitude once again to everyone who helped create a venue where we can proudly showcase our talented students.
