Music News

In Music this term Prep and Grade 1 students have built on the skills they developed in Semester 1. They have been working on singing and playing in time with each other and the beat. Students are learning how to keep an inner beat which allows us to feel the beat of the music so we can sing or play in time. 

The Grade 2 students have taken to music like ducks to water, giving everything a red-hot go. They are learning to sing and play together and most importantly when to stop.  Students are learning the musical terms for loud (forte) and soft (piano). They have performed for each other in class, singing and each playing a percussion instrument in small groups. 

The Junior Choir members are getting excited about their performance at the concert next week. They sound amazing, I’m very proud of their efforts and I am very sure you will be impressed.  This week each choir member should have brought home a note asking they wear full school uniform, so they are ready for the performances. Please make sure ALL items of uniform are clearly named so nothing goes missing.
