Specialist Feature News: Visual Art

Selamat Siang,

Here's a quick update on what each student level has been working on in Visual Arts recently:

Preps: Our youngest artists have been exploring colours and enhancing their fine motor skills through fun cutting and pasting activities. They’ve enjoyed creating vibrant Indonesian flag crafts and their own Beach artworks.

Year 1/2s: These students have also focused on fine motor development by tearing and gluing Indonesian flags. Additionally, they’ve experimented with gingham criss-cross prints that will soon be featured in their paper collage projects.  We have also enjoyed chalk design and sketching in the sun!

Year 3/4s: We have been deeply engaged in learning about First Nations cultures with our Artist in Residence, Sam Richards. Students have learnt about symbolic storytelling and are currently painting their own unique stories. A big thank you to Brooke Henwood for all of her hard work in organising the program for our scho

Year 5/6s: The senior students are diving into textiles and tie-dye. Year 5s are designing custom bags, while Year 6s are creating special bears as part of their graduation project. It’s been wonderful to see their creativity, teamwork, and perseverance shine through.

We’re excited about all the fantastic work happening in our Visual Arts classes and look forward to sharing more with you soon!
