Disability Inclusion at Concord School

As we implement the Disability Inclusion reform at our school, staff have engaged in professional development, including whole school learning about what the Disability Inclusion Profile will look like at our school.

Our staff are skilled in understanding how to accommodate for your child’s individual needs, and this reform will strengthen these skills and provide further knowledge to staff. Teachers and leaders are also learning how this new funding model will, over time, replace the Program for Disabilities (PSD) application process.

Part of this new process includes the Disability Inclusion Profile (DIP) meeting, which is separate to the SSG meetings held each term with your child’s teacher. During the DIP meeting, we will discuss the strengths, aspirations, and goals of your child. These are positive discussions that will highlight the supports in place that enable your child to experience success.

The DIP process is not required for every student every year, as students will likely only have 3 or 4 DIP meetings in their school life. If your child is required to have a DIP meeting, we will contact you, talk through the process with you and invite you to attend the meeting with us.
