Principal's Report

Term 2

As we head towards the end of the term, I would like to acknowledge and thank our whole school community for your continued support and work this term. The students have been able to showcase their learning in our Education Week open mornings, while others have been able to create new memories and friendship bonds through their excursion and camp experiences.

As mentioned in a previous newsletter, we are now well into the winter months, and there have been frequent student and staff absences due to illness which have impacted upon the daily routines of schooling. To assist with communication, please remember when emailing your child’s teacher to ‘cc’ in the section leaders so they can reply to you if your child’s teacher is absent.

Principal Recruitment

You would have seen the recent announcement from John Qiu, our School Council President, regarding the outcome of the Principal recruitment process. I am pleased to be provisionally appointed to the role and look forward to continuing to work with the students, staff and the whole school community to enable every student to be the best they can be.

Variation to School Day

On Wednesday the 26th of June, we will be running a ‘Variation to School Day’ for our SSG meetings running from 10am – 6pm.  This isn't a traditional day of schooling as students only attend for their individual SSG time as scheduled by parents/carers. This is so teachers can have 30 minute meetings with parents/carers and where appropriate with the student.  More information will follow via Compass.

Building Works

Our building works continue with the play spaces at the Bundoora campus continuing to take shape. These works will be continuing over the next couple of months and hopefully the half basketball court will be handed over shortly.

Last Day of Term

A reminder that Friday the 28th of June is the last day of Term 2. School will be finishing at 2:30pm. Please note that the busses will also be running to this earlier schedule.

We look forward to welcoming all students back to school for Term 3 on Monday the 15th of July.

Principal's Award - Dylan Saavedra

The recipient of this terms Principal award is Dylan Saavedra.

Dylan consistently displays the Concord School values by being a respectful, responsible and safe learner. He is a polite, kind and a conscientious student who always tries his best in every situation.

In class Dylan always completes tasks and activities with enthusiasm and with a positive attitude to always doing his personal best.

Dylan completed a successful interview with  IGA close to his home and we are pleased that he will be completing Work Experience there every Tuesday for Term 3.

Outside of the classroom, Dylan can always be found supporting others and encouraging them to do the right thing or sitting quietly when someone just needs a friend. Dylan likes to spend time on his computer, but recess and lunchtime will always find him kicking the footy with his mates.

The Year 11/12 Team are very proud to present Dylan  as the winner of the Principal's award for this term as he thoroughly deserves the praise.

Well Done Dylan.
