Year 8 Girls Netball

On Tuesday, June 18th, the Year 8 Girls' Netball A and B teams from our College showcased their talents at the Northern Peninsula Division competition at Jubilee Park in Frankston. The A team demonstrated excellent skill, athleticism and teamwork across their four matches. Following a bye in Round 1, they faced McClelland College in a closely contested match, narrowly losing by a single goal. This set the tone for the day as they competed strongly, winning their next match against Elisabeth Murdoch College by a goal, but falling short against Frankston High School by the same margin. Each match against these closely matched schools could have gone either way. However, they finished on a high note with a commanding 16-goal victory over Carrum Downs Secondary College.

Meanwhile, the B team had a packed schedule of six matches, where they also displayed great skills and a clear understanding of Netball rules. They won their first five matches comfortably and ended their final game in a hard-fought draw. These impressive results earned them the title of Northern Peninsula Division B Champions, securing their spot in the next round scheduled for Tuesday, August 6th. A special acknowledgment goes to Year 10 EXCEL Sport students Keira, Ayla and Holly, who coached the B team throughout the day. They managed player positions and rotations while providing valuable advice, motivation, and positive support to the team. Congratulations to all the players and coaches involved for their hard work and achievement!
