Did You Know.

A message from the NPS Principal - Mr. Corrie Barclay.

...that Newtown Primary School surpasses Victorian State learning achievement data across every core curriculum area? And... not only that, but we also surpass our Network Schools as well! See below!

It is unfortunately easy in the hustle and bustle of leading a school to recognise and remember just how great our school is. The work that our staff does on every level to ensure that our schools run smoothly and efficiently, that our teaching and learning programs are hitting their mark and having the desired impact , and that we are supporting our students and their wellbeing as well as ANYONE, serves as a stark reminder that we are indeed a high performing school that is doing it's best, and doing VERY well.

As Principal of our great school, I am as proud as anyone of what our students can achieve and the brilliant work our teachers engage in to give NPS students the best education possible. Ideally and in a perfect world, our focus would remain 100% of the time on teaching and learning however, that is not the reality. There are 'things' that impact and interfere with our core business.

It is largely my role as the Principal to ensure that teachers and staff are protected from those impacts and interferences so that they can focus on what is important. Our students and their learning, growth, and well-being.

On the back of all of that, I encourage all of our NPS families to talk us up as a high-performing school, not only because we are (and it's great to brag when you can!), but because we all should be proud of what we are collectively achieving. It is important to stop, recognise and celebrate the success/es we are having!
