State Team Soccer Trials

Good luck to Roy Scott who is currently attending the State Team Soccer Trials at John Cain Memorial Park today. We hope he has had a great day and learnt some new soccer skills. 

 

Sacred Heart Feast Day Sport Activities

To celebrate our Sacred Heart Feast Day, Friday 7th, we will be having a number of sporting activities between 11.30 am and 1.00 pm. All Sacred Heart students need to wear their sports uniform. Sporting Activities include:  Active Games, Skipping, Relay Races, Tag Games and Dances. A big thank you to our Year 6 students who will be leading the sporting activities on the day. All students will need to wear their sports uniform.

 

Colac Division Soccer

We wish our two Sacred Heart soccer teams all the best this week Thursday 6th June, when they compete in the Colac Division Soccer Championships at the Colac Central Reserve/Colac Hockey Fields. Students will travel by bus to this event. The bus will leave Sacred Heart at 9:00am and return at approximately 2:30pm. Students need to wear their sports uniform and bring along their soccer gear e.g. boots, shin guards etc. All students will need to bring along a water bottle, fruit, snacks and lunch. Spare clothes and a towel may be needed. Please watch the weather forecast!

A big thank you to the parents who have offered to coach and umpire on the day, we are very grateful for your help.  We look forward to a fun and challenging day of soccer.

 

 

Colac Division Football Lightning Premiership

We wish our two Sacred Heart football teams all the best when they compete in the Colac Division Football Championships on Friday 14th June at the Colac Central Reserve. Students will travel by bus to this event. 

Footballers will need to wear football shorts, socks and football boots (bring these along in your school bag). Football jumpers will be supplied.

All students will need to bring along a water bottle, fruit, snacks and lunch. Spare clothes and a towel may be needed. Please watch the weather forecast!

We do need parents to assist with coaching and umpiring on the day, so please indicate on PAM if you can help out.

Colac Division Netball Lightning Premiership

The Year 6 girls have their netball trial tomorrow Wednesday 5th June during the lunch break. A big thank you to all our Year 5/6 girls who have participated in the netball trials. All our Year 6 student who participated will be given a position in one of the three teams that Sacred Heart will be entering in this event. Selected year 5 students who trialled for the event will make up the extra positions in the teams. 

A very big thank you to Sally Montano who assisted with the netball trials. We are very grateful for the time and effort that Sally has put in.

Netballers will need to wear their sports uniform (Sacred Heart Lycra dresses will be supplied), bring along a water bottle, fruit, snacks and lunch. Spare clothes and a towel may be needed. Please watch the weather forecast!

Name:  Lloyd Stevens (Yr 6KT) 

1. What sports do you play? The sports I play are basketball and tennis.

2. Which sport is your favourite to play? My favourite sport to play is tennis.

3. Why is this your favourite sport? Tennis is my favourite sport to play because I like hitting the tennis ball.

4. What is your proudest sporting moment? My proudest sporting moment was when we won the tennis final.

5. What are your strengths that help you with sport? My strengths in tennis is my strength with hitting the ball and serving.

6. Why do you love playing sports? I love playing sport because I get to exercise and I like to be competitive.

7. Who is your favourite sports person?  My favourite sports person is Alex de Minaur – Australian Tennis Champion. 

8. Why are they your favourite?  Alex de Minaur is my favourite tennis player because he is a great Australian tennis player and he has a fantastic serve.

9. What is your favourite sporting team? My favourite sports team is NBA team, Golden State Warriors.

10. How would your coaches and teammates describe you? My coach would describe me as a very competitive player.

 

Name: Reagan Smart  (Yr 5JT)

1. What sports do you play? The sports I play are basketball and athletics.

2. Which sport is your favourite to play? My favourite sport to play is basketball.

3. Why is this your favourite sport? Basketball is my favourite sport because it is a great team sport to play and I have a lot of fun when I play it.

4. What is your proudest sporting moment? My proudest sporting moment was when represented Sacred Heart in the State Athletics and came 8th overall in the whole of Victoria for running.

5. What are your strengths that help you with sport? My strengths in sport is my speed and I have good ball handling skills.

6. Why do you love playing sports? I love playing sport because I get to play with my mates and I get to have fun.

7. Who is your favourite sports person? My favourite sports person is Cathy Freeman.

8. Why are they your favourite? Cathy Freeman is my favourite athlete because she won gold in the 400m sprint and I love sprinting. She was a champion athlete for Australia.

9. What is your favourite sporting team? My favourite sports team is the Australian women’s basketball team – the Opals.

10. How would your coaches and teammates describe you? My coach and team mates would say that I am fast, that I show good sportsmanship and I am always happy to give something a try.

1. What sports do you play? The sports I play are basketball, football and cricket.

2. Which sport is your favourite to play? My favourite sport to play is football.

3. Why is this your favourite sport? Football is my favourite sport because I love the game and I get to play with my friends.

4. What is your proudest sporting moment? My proudest sporting moment was when I got to play in the cricket grandfinal.

5. What are your strengths that help you with sport? My strengths in sport are my speed and I am good at kicking goals.

6. Why do you love playing sports? I love playing sport because I like to keep fit.

7. Who is your favourite sports person? My favourite sports person is Australian cricketer Nathan Lyon.

8. Why are they your favourite? Nathan Lyon is my favourite player because has got more than 500 wickets.

9. What is your favourite sporting team? My favourite sports team is Hawthorn.

10. How would your coaches and teammates describe you? My coach and team mates would say that I am fast and a good player.
