SWPBS Update

Brookside P-9 College has achieved Silver Level Acknowledgement for our commitment to the implementation of the essential features of School-Wide Positive Behaviour Support (SWPBS) in 2023. This is a fantastic achievement for the school as SWPBS implementation, and we are hoping to achieve Gold Level Acknowledgement next year!

House Points

Brookside’s “House Points” system was launched this term, with the aim of encouraging positive House pride and culture. House points are awarded for each 4R Superstar Award given out during the week, and the leading House is announced at each Monday Morning P-6 Assembly. The House with the most points by the end of the year will be rewarded, which will be negotiated with the leaders of the winning House. Good luck to all Houses!

Student Attitudes to School Survey

The Student Attitudes to School Survey will be administered at Brookside between 13 May to 24 May with students in Years 4-9. All students will have an opportunity to voice their opinion about the school and shape the next steps and actions that we take in our journey for continual improvement.

Celebrating Success

Earlier this term, Brookside College hosted approximately 35 principals from within the Melton Network, showcasing some of the work that we have been undertaking to improve our Student Attitudes to School Survey data. This was at request, based on the fact that we have some of the best data in the Network!

Child safety and wellbeing at Brookside College: information for families and the school community

The Victorian Government has announced new Child Safe Standards to further strengthen child safety across organisations, including schools. The new standards recognise the critical importance of families and the broader school community in maintaining and promoting child safety and wellbeing.

Brookside College has reviewed and updated our child safety policies and procedures to ensure they meet the requirements of the new standards. These are available to view on the school’s website www.brooksidecollege.vic.edu.au

We are committed to continuous improvement in our approach to child safety and wellbeing and welcome feedback from families and members of our school community on ways we can further strengthen our child safety policies, procedures and practices.

If you have any suggestions, comments or questions, please contact our college Principal Violeta Dellidis.

We hope you have a wonderful weekend!
