HOL Café update

Term two is flying away from us quickly and the café students have been extremely busy.

We have been very fortunate in being able to cater for two large events this term being the Network Meeting in the first week and celebrating our incredible Education Support staff for ES Day just last week. It is truly inspiring for us to see how well our students have progressed since the start of the year and that they can work together over the week towards a common goal. There is a huge sense of pride, and relief, when all the food is out and the attendees are pleased with the offerings.

Next week we are raising funds together with our Food Technology department with a bake sale for cancer research as part of the Biggest Morning Tea. Please see the flyer attached for more information. With your support, we know this will be a huge success. If you would like to make a donation, please scan the QR code and it will take you through to the donation link.

Amongst all of this catering, we have been focusing on building confidence within ourselves. Opportunities that present within our program are a wonderful way to build confidence, whether that be through the catering events or the day-to-day routine of the cafe. Face to face dealings with various staff members in a positive and encouraging environment only enhance the student’s learning and personal development. Students are asked at the end of the day to reflect and share on something that they have done well during the day; it is encouraging to hear such wonderfully positive self-reflections coming from them all.

We look forward to sharing more exciting adventures with you all soon.
