Holy Family Chess Club

This term, the Holy Family Chess Club has a new home: every Tuesday lunch time, our breakfast club area transforms into the Chess Clubhouse. It is a place to learn, play, and participate in chess tournaments.

I have been remarkably proud of the students this year for their focus, respect, perseverance, and dedication. It is simply a delight to see students who have learnt chess for the first time now playing regularly at the club. Their ability to problem-solve, finding complex checkmates, is a testament to children’s  creativity and critical thinking. As every game of chess is different, the children must think deeply to find the next good move - and discover this unaided.
