Student News is the section of the newsletter compiled by the Student Communication Leaders.  This week they chose to write about Gala Day.

Gala Day Wednesday 1st May 

On Wednesday the first of May the 4,5, and 6 classes went to Greaves reserve to take part in gala day. The sports that we were playing were soccer, handball, netball and tee-ball. Once we reached the four different sports we went to play, handball went inside the stadium while soccer, netball and tee-ball stayed outside.

Handball

I loved playing handball because it was really fun to play matches against other schools but it was also very tiring to run back and forth in the stadium. We were lucky enough to win two matches and I am looking forward to playing again next year.

Soccer

Soccer was really fun and it was very fun when we won against other schools. I led my team to win two matches, and I think my team played very well.

Netball

I enjoyed netball. I worked together with my team to win two matches and draw one match. The other school showed lots of sportsmanship as well as giving us a challenging match. Sometimes it would be painful as I would get hurt but I kept playing.

T-ball

I thought it was very fun and challenging mainly because I had to lead my team and help them to play. It was very hard to play and we were able to tie one game, even though we didn’t win I had lots of fun.
